Diversify Your Las Vegas Dining Experiences
Nove Italiano: On the 51st floor of the Palms Hotel’s Fantasy Tower, Nove Italiano juxtaposes the old with the new while offering amazing views of the nearby Las Vegas Strip from its semi-outdoor patio dining area. This multilevel Italian restaurant combines hip, trendy décor with traditional Tuscan entrées from Executive Chef Geno Bernardo. The contemporary dining room showcases animal prints against purple accents and ultramarine light fixtures that contrast expansive marble walls, crystal beads and ornate chandeliers for a fun, chic atmosphere. Voodoo Lounge at Rio Resort
: Called the “original party in the sky,” the Voodoo Lounge, featuring live bands and DJs who provide hot music for dancing, sits on the 50th floor of the Rio’s Masquerade Tower. This chill, open-air space provides a nearly 360-degree view of the lights of Las Vegas and the mountains that surround it. Plus, you can raise the bar experience even higher by climbing to the Rio’s 51st floor via a 40-ton illuminated staircase.

Although perhaps not for the acrophobic set, if you’re willing to go to new heights to experience dining and entertainment excellence, these restaurants and lounges are just the ticket to satisfy that high-flying thrill.

Meeting for Breakfast

Good parents and teachers know starting off the day with a good breakfast helps students learn and be attentive, so why wouldn’t the same apply to professionals at meetings? Corporate breakfast meetings can be held in conjunction with another meeting or presentation, or they can be a separate event altogether. Commonly, you can book them in your hotel banquet room or at a convention center, but also consider booking at restaurants not generally open or busy in the mornings; they might be available for this kind of event and would love the business. Done well, breakfast meetings can be productive and motivating, but they take planning like any other event.

Breakfast meetings are a great place to meet with many colleagues in a more casual environment. Focus these meetings on brainstorming or jumpstarting new projects or use them to simply network. It can be an opportunity for informal, inspirational networking and building relationships when people’s minds are fresh and relatively free from the pressures of the working day that will arise. Setting an agenda for these meetings can be kept informal, or you can send out an agenda beforehand so people can prepare and know that something will be accomplished. Regardless, leave the printed agendas off the tables. There’s no roomfor them once the tables are filled with all the breakfast delights.

Like any meeting, set firm start and end times for the breakfast. People have busy days ahead of them, and encroaching on their schedules too much could set them on a negative path all day. Plan for time before the meeting, or at the very beginning, for people to get settled, get their food and say hello to others. Limit the meeting to under an hour; overly long morning meetings come off as inconsiderate, and you will lose attendees’ focus.

Decide the desired organization of the tables depending on your meeting goals. For a presenter-focused meeting, have rows of tables facing the front with a buffet at the back of the room. For a more interactive and networking-focused meeting, try large round tables spread throughout the space. Waitress service is not only more costly than a buffet, it also takes up time and focus from the meeting. Consider the benefits of a buffet: It allows attendees immediate access to their choice of food and eliminates a gratuity charge. If a buffet does not quite fit your needs, family-style platters set on each table allow attendees to serve themselves without getting up.
