Planning a meeting in Las Vegas or attending a convention in Las Vegas and having to organize satellite events?
Dining at the Fremont Street Experience
The Strip restaurant scene is almost an industry unto itself, with a limitless amount of choices for upscale and themed dining. Before choosing a well-known restaurant on the Strip by default, business meeting planners will want to consider other dining alternatives in order to maximize the dining portion of their budgets.

While the stylized interiors of the Strip have come to be regarded as the quintessential Las Vegas atmosphere, the city offers another landmark district for an equally unique and region-specific experience. For a taste of “classic” Las Vegas, planners should look into the glitzy options of downtown’s Fremont Street Experience.

The dining facilities of the Fremont Street Experience offer personalized customer service, high entertainment value and world-class amenities at a fraction of the prices found on the Strip. During the evenings, the Las Vegas of yesteryear is brought to life by a blaze of neon lights and a symphony of live music that make the Freemont Street Experience the perfect backdrop for a corporate VIP dinner.

Every hotel and casino at the Fremont Street Experience features its own restaurant or two that offer splendid menus featuring every imaginable cuisine along with the glamorous interiors that are unmistakably Las Vegas in scope. Each establishment has a variety of dining experiences to choose from, from the laidback and casual to the formal and professional. Here are just a few of the center’s must-visit establishments. For a complete listing of restaurants that are available, make sure to read the accompanying sidebar on page XX.

Fremont Hotel & Casino
If the iconic marquee of the Fremont Hotel & Casino doesn’t catch your attention, then the never-ending feast at the Paradise Buffet & Café surely will. Enter the world of an exotic tropical garden as guests can enjoy a variety of food choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This all-you-can-eat haven accommodates 450 people, an ideal location for large corporate groups. The diverse menu is accented with flavors from the tropics and the constantly changing food line-up offers several exciting themed nights, like Seafood Fantasy and Steak Night.

The Fremont Hotel & Casino also offers four bars, a Dunkin’ Donuts, a quick meal eatery and Tony Roma’s, a restaurant known for its succulent rib dishes and that’s touted as the best barbeque in Las Vegas.

Planners looking for a fine dining establishment don’t have to eliminate the Fremont from their list of possibilities. Second Street Grill is an equally balanced blend of casual and upscale dining featuring fine American cuisine influenced by the flavors of the Pacific Rim. The menu features all the favorite corporate entrees, including steak, seafood and poultry dishes. This posh restaurant not only serves up a great presentation, but is repeatedly cited for the quality of its food by the national Zagat Survey and is known to repeated visitors for its high level of customer service.

Golden Nugget
Beyond its legendary status as iconic Las Vegas, this amazing resort and event facility offers several dining options available so that guests can enjoy a memorable meal while interacting firsthand with a popular culture landmark.

Vic & Anthony’s is an upscale steakhouse furnished in vintage Americana, perfect for leaving a lasting impression on an exclusive group of VIP executives. Signature dishes include irresistible cuts of beef, fresh lobster and exotically arranged appetizers. Vic & Anthony’s first-class selection of wines tops off a wonderful culinary experience.

Red Sushi is Golden Nugget’s trendy Japanese food lounge, where guests can enjoy an assortment of cold and hot appetizers followed by their favorite pieces of nigiri and sashimi. Imported beer and Japanese sake complement Red Sushi’s flagship rolls and eastern entrees.

Nothing brings people together like hearty Italian favorites, making Grotto a great choice for informal group gatherings. The Sicilian-inspired décor provides a casual and relaxing ambience of reds and browns and highlights the zesty flavors of Grotto’s fish and chicken entrees and delicious antipasti selections. The restaurant’s pizza oven is open until midnight to satisfy the gourmet cravings of pizza connoisseurs throughout the entire day.

4 Queens Hotel & Casino
The 4 Queens Hotel & Casino is known for its grand scale, emphasized by the fact that it’s home to the world’s largest slot machine. However, 4 Queens also boasts several exciting restaurants that allow dining diners to interact with the never-resting pulse of the hotel and casino surrounding them.

Magnolia’s Veranda is a 24-hour restaurant designed in a turn-of- the-19th-century motif. Serving favorites of American diners, from quarter pounder burgers to Philly steak sandwiches and all-beef hot dogs to spicy chicken clubs, guests can enjoy their favorite comfort food while observing the excitement of the casino floor below. Planners looking for a filling bargain should note that Magnolia’s Veranda is the birthplace of the $8.95 prime rib dinner, a popular selection served from 4 p.m. in the evening to midnight.

Hugo’s Cellar represents the 4 Queens’ high-end dining option. The restaurant is impeccably furnished to evoke the warm and rich atmosphere of older Las Vegas eating venues. A favorite of corporate professionals is Hugo’s Hot Rock Specialty, an appetizer consisting of beef, chicken, swordfish and shrimp tenderloins cooked right at the table on a granite slab. Guests are treated to complimentary chocolate-dipped fruit with whipped cream. Hugo’s Cellar is also known for its impressive dessert selection, including signature recipes assembled at the table. Dinner at Hugo’s is an interactive experience guests won’t soon forget.
