(LAS VEGAS, Mar. 2011) – With P.J. Clarke’s now open at The Forum Shops at Caesars, St. Patrick’s Day has a new permanent home right on the Strip. Since opening its doors in New York City in 1884, P.J. Clarke’s has been home to some of the most passionate, enthusiastic St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the city. Long known for consuming the most pints of Guinness (over 5000) and consuming more than half a ton of corned beef & cabbage, P.J. Clarke’s St. Patrick’s Day revelry is legendary, and the celebration continues until the last glass is empty!
In 2011, Las Vegas will be part of a bi-coastal party, and P.J. Clarke’s plans to import its 128 year old tradition by personally seeing to it that Las Vegas experiences the holiday the way it was meant to be celebrated – with good friends, real bartenders, classic drinks and the finest corned beef and cabbage that can be found in Las Vegas. Additionally, P.J. Clarke’s is going to give away a one-of-a-kind 2011 URAL Russian Motorcycle with Sidecar ( www.ural.com). Just like the Sidecar inside the restaurant, anyone and everyone will want to be seen on this distinctive machine. The URAL will be on display in front of the restaurant and entries to win the URAL will be available at the restaurant from March 17th through March 20th.
The 12,000 square foot saloon and eatery located on Level One of the Forum Shops, is setting out to paint the town green, with Desert Skye Pipes and Drums Marching Band (leading a parade through the Forum Shops to P.J.’s at 1pm and 6pm, and performing in the restaurant at 2,3,4,5 and 7pm), and with a little help from the Forum Shops, the famed Triton Fountain will be transformed into a majestic shade of green. Meanwhile, inside the restaurant the band will be playing, the Guinness will be flowing by the pint and classic plates of corned beef and cabbage and corned beef sandwiches will be served from opening to close. In addition, the restaurant’s 125” HD Screen over the main bar will be broadcasting live from the iconic 55th Street P.J. Clarke’s in New York City—letting Las Vegas and New York show the world how St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated.
Since charity starts at home, and P.J. Clarke’s has a long history of helping organizations in need, St. Patrick’s Day will launch the restaurant’s efforts to give back to the community. In celebration of the festivities and revelry, P.J. Clarke’s will make a $10,000 donation to the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education in Las Vegas ( www.agassifoundation.org). Additionally, P.J. Clarke’s will donate 20% of all T-Shirt sales to the Foundation from March 17th – March 20th.
“We might be in Las Vegas now, but we won’t lose our New York state-of-mind,” explains Phil Scotti, P.J. Clarke’s owner. “We look at our ability to celebrate as a great way to help important causes, and this will be our first opportunity in Las Vegas to do something good for the community. We want to create a new ritual here in Las Vegas, but sometimes a bit of history and tradition can be a good thing. St. Patrick’s Day at P.J.’s is not just a day where we roll-out the green decorations – it is in our DNA to celebrate everything we do in a big way.”
P.J. Clarke’s can be found adjacent to the spiraling escalator on Level One of the Forum Shops with entry from Las Vegas Blvd. and via the Forum Shops multiple entrances. The restaurant features 12,000 square feet, seating 323 people in the main dining room and 25 at the main bar. For intimate dining and special events, a private dining room known as the Sidecar, complete with industrial décor with factory-style accents is available and sectioned off from the main dining room by French doors and vintage-style shades. The private dining room holds up to 80 people.
In addition to three New York locations, there are now P.J. Clarke’s in Washington, D.C. and São Paolo.
