Hospitality Network became an affiliate company of Cox Business in 2004, enabling a unified group to offer a complete package of telecommunications products to the entire hospitality sector.
Advanced Convention Services (ACS) from Cox Business
One call to Las Vegas-based Advanced Convention Services (ACS) and you’ll have secure, stable and reliable high-speed broadband connectivity for your next event, trade show, conference or convention.
ACS is the brand name of the customized broadband and cable television services for meeting and convention facilities in Southern Nevada from Cox Business-Las Vegas while Cox Business is the commercial division of Cox Communications, the third-largest cable telecommunications company in the U.S.
Working closely with on-property IT, operations, catering and convention services departments, ACS will deliver on even the most challenging requirements by meeting and event planners or convention industry representatives for shows of any size.
The primary vision at ACS is to provide wired and/or wireless Internet bandwidth of any size to meeting and event planners in order to make their customers more productive, more efficient and more successful. And that means giving end users what they need to do everything from checking e-mail and surfing the Web to downloading large data files and streaming video without jitter or latency. ACS can also provide bandwidth needs for more sophisticated operations like video conferencing or the establishment of a virtual private network.
“Even though ACS is a relatively new product set at our company, we’ve still managed to service more than 1 million-square-feet of convention space in Las Vegas in just three years,” notes Stephen Costa, interim vice president and general manager of Cox Business-Las Vegas. “Our engineering and sales teams provide a robust, resilient and scalable broadband product that will satisfy any meeting or convention need.”
ACS already has some remarkable achievements under its belt: it was the first and only provider to offer high definition video to the 2.3 million-square-foot Las Vegas Convention Center. At the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show, ACS provided HDTV service to global market leaders like Samsung, LG, Microsoft, Dell and Hewlett-Packard among many others. For its ability to deliver a quality product, numerous Las Vegas resort properties such as Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, Green Valley Ranch Resort and Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino among others have selected ACS to provide wired and wireless broadband at their convention facilities.
“Cox ACS has performed at a very high level; the feedback from clients and staff has been overwhelmingly positive,” notes Steve Blanner, executive director of convention services at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. “The Cox ACS commitment to deliver five-star service is evident each and every day.”
ACS broadband services draw from the commanding presence of the Cox nationwide fiber optic backbone which allows for the delivery of a dedicated 100 Mbps Ethernet connection to show sites. In addition to the 100 Mbps private VLAN connection for larger events, other services from ACS include a shared wired connection, Wi-Fi connectivity via access codes, and a low bandwidth (limited to 1 Mbps) two-hour wireless meeting room connection.
In addition, ACS also features:
• Best of class switches, hubs and cabling
• Easy and secure online ordering
• Wi-Fi and wired connectivity
• High-definition cable television
• Multiple packages and pricing options for hotels and exhibitors
• Award-winning, 24-hour, in-house customer support
Pre-event consultation services are also available to help determine the right network bandwidth capacity, network configuration, equipment integration, and other considerations for a smooth and reliable broadband operation.
