Planning a meeting in Las Vegas or attending a convention in Las Vegas and having to organize satellite events?
A World of Entertainment in Las Vegas
What makes Las Vegas such a great corporate events destination? What is it about Las Vegas that makes business professionals of all industries excited to take part in conventions and tradeshows they ordinarily wouldn’t attend? The simple answer is that everyone is attracted to the city’s high entertainment value. There’s so much to see and do that any business trip feels like a mini-vacation when all is said and done.

In fact, due to personal economic constraints, corporate attendees are beginning to incorporate their family vacations as an extension of their annual convention and trade show business trips. It’s not hard to see why: Las Vegas is such an enjoyable destination that many professionals find that their families don’t want to be left behind. It has become common for attendees to fly in their spouses or significant others to the convention destination before, during or after their event. This allows them to save in that they don’t have to pay for two tickets to reach their vacation destination.

During the actual event, many companies now offer spousal programs for convention goers. These programs are designed to make Las Vegas an enjoyable getaway for family and friends while the attendee is in meetings during the day. Spa retreats and golf outings are examples of popular spousal program activities that can be enjoyed during the day, which leaves them with the evenings to spend with their significant others.

When planning a corporate meeting or event, the fact that Las Vegas is known as the “Wedding Capital of the World” is not the first thing that comes to mind. With the increase in demand for spousal programs, vow renewals have become the new buzz words for the “in thing to do” while couples are visiting Las Vegas. Event planners are recognizing the growing trend of convention attendees combining work with vacation by bringing their spouse to Las Vegas. Vegas Weddings offers wedding vow renewal packages for every budget and style. “A vow renewal can make a couples’ trip to Las Vegas the most memorable and rewarding one they’ve ever experienced,” explains Vegas Weddings President and Founder Cliff Evarts.

If your travel partner is not a significant other or you and your co-workers want to see more than the convention hall, Las Vegas and the surrounding territories are a wonderful environment to enjoy the outdoors. A major outdoor attraction is the Grand Canyon, one of the most recognized natural landmarks in the country. Air tours are available from Las Vegas, which allows riders to experience the majesty of the expanse for a bird’s eye view. The Red Rock Canyon is situated closer to Las Vegas, and provides great terrain for hiking and horseback riding tours.

For the more adventurous, zip-lines offer a thrill ride that can’t be found in any amusement park. One of the nation’s most popular zip-lines can be found at Bootleg Canyon Flightlines. Participants are hoisted into the air on a cable and sent down a series of four extreme ziplines that carry them across one-and-a-half miles of the canyons and drop them more than 1,000 vertical feet while reaching speeds up to 60 miles per hour.

Sometimes attendees might not be interested in spending too much time on the Strip, especially if they have already been to Vegas multiple times. Thanks to the nearby cities of Mesquite, Henderson, Primm and Laughlin, attendees can go on weekend getaways filled with new and exciting attractions. All of these cities offer great accommodations, exceptional restaurants, refreshing outdoor experiences, cultural activities and first-rate entertainment to rival Las Vegas. In short, the outlying Nevada territories offer a vacation away from a vacation.

The Strip offers a New York City entertainment experience in the form of a dinner and a show. Many of the shows on the Strip, including those at the Saxe Theater and V-Theater, offer dinner upgrades for their patrons. This allows patrons to be able to eat a great meal before the show starts for a wonderful evening of food and entertainment.

Las Vegas is also one of the nation’s shopping capitals. Whether it’s clothing apparel or souvenirs for friends and family, Las Vegas has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to savvy retail options. Some of the city’s top shopping centers include the iconic Fashion Show, the world-famous Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian and trendy Town Square. Other malls of interest include The Shoppes at the Palazzo, Miracle Mile at Planet Hollywood and CRYSTALS Retail & Entertainment at CityCenter.
